The Dorsal of the Day is simply a player that we recommend grabbing off your Fantasy Baseball waiver wire, provided he is still available in your league. Fantasy Baseball players rejoice! In his 1st stint as Reds manager, Dusty Baker certainly managed to dance around revealing his 2008 starting rotation.
We wouldn’t have been surprised had Baker donned a Reds mascot “Gapper” costume in order to avoid reporters from hassling him to, once and for all, finalize the mystery starting staff!
Some good things do come to those who wait though. Aaron Harang and Bronson Arroyo will be joined by Josh Fogg, Edinson Volquez (WaiverSharks like to refer to him as “Voltron”) and this springs pitching sensation, our DORSAL OF THE DAY – Johnny Cueto.
For a 22 year old kid, Cueto possesses quite the dazzling arsenal of pitches. During a recent spring game he threw some 97-mph fastballs, 87-mph sliders & mixed in a 78-mph changeup. Yikes!
If you’re the type of Fantasy manager who likes to gamble a little bit on young starting pitchers with a ton of upside, than look no further – Johnny Cueto is your ticket to Vegas, cowboy!
Some leagues have yet to add the dominating Dominican to their Player List, so you may want to keep a close eye on where your waiver priority lies when he is added to the game – especially if you are in a Keeper league.
