Oakland Athletics starter Dana Eveland, who some have compared to a young David “Boomer” Wells came to the A’s via the Dan Haren trade this past off season.

The hefty lefty ranked highly in the Mexican Pacific League while taking part in Winter ball and saw his stock increase even higher after an amazing spring (3-0/17 Ks/1.29 ERA/1.14 WHIP/21.0 IP)

Is Oakland A’s Dana Eveland a young version of David Wells?

Mixed Leaguers should at this point be somewhat intrigued by the big guys shaggy brown goatee, and even more so by his two straight quality starts to begin the year.

Oakland GM extraordinaire, Billy Beane obviously saw something in Eveland worth going after, if you’re a bonafied WaiverShark you’ll see it too.
