Dorsal of the DayThe Arizona Diamondbacks have called up right-hander Max Scherzer.

True Waiver Sharks hear news like this, and wide shark teeth grins form from gill to gill! Especially ones who are involved in long term Keeper Leagues~!

“Mad Max” was off to an incredible start for the Sidewinders. He currently posted an ERA of 1.17 and a 38/3 K/BB ratio while pitching 23 innings for Tucson.

In most likelihood, Sherzer will pitch in the bullpen to begin his career, but it may not take very long for him to enter the rotation. However it should be noted that the D-backs suffer from their own case of “Joba-itis” regarding Scherzer. They need help NOW in the bullpen, and there can be a case said that Scherzer’s electric stuff would make for an amazing closer. We’ll have to just wait and see how this all pans out. But regardless what role he plays – this kid has some nasty stuff!

Max ScherzerAnd it’s been witnessed by scouts that the 98 MPH flamethrower is improving his secondary pitches as well.

Single season mixed leaguers might want to stash him away if possible, based on his great potential – and if Scherzer has not been added to your league yet - a high waiver priority should strongly be considered.
