Poor Pittsburgh Pirates fans have certainly not had a lot to cheer about yet again this baseball season. And - with the recent trade that sent Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte to the Yankees many of the Buccos season ticket holding faithful wouldn’t be called out if they tossed their remaining PNC Park tickets into the Allgheny River.
But hold onto your Primanti’s sandwich Pittsburgh ! Before you go on a river litter tirade that could fill Matt Capps pants – some help may be on the way!

The Pirates system has long been touting both 1B/OF - Steven Pearce who was recently recalled - as well as this future 30/30 man – Andrew McCutchen.
The sudden - and unexpected rise of young Nate McLouth may have contributed to McCutchen’s added minor league tenure.
But with the Pirates apparently finally deciding to say “uncle” last week, as trade deadline sees them once again wearing the “sellers” hat - it shouldn’t be much longer before Pirates fans – and Fantasy baseball communities catch a glimpse of the speed/power combo that has crossers of the Roberto Clemente Bridge grinning anxiously.
Keeper leagues and NL ONLY leagues need to shark this potential 5 tool wonder as soon as he’s added to your leagues wire.
Mixed leagues may want to wait and see how well he adapts to the majors – but adding a speedster with McCutchen’s bat potential shouldn’t be hemmed and hawed too long.
The season is fast approaching playoff time - and this may be the best offensive option outside of Clevelands Matt LaPorta to land a player who could have immediate impact this year.
So, unless you’re sitting in the cat bird seat waiting for LaPorta or Tampa Bay ’s phenom starter in the wings - David Price - utilize that high waiver priority you’re clinging to – especially if you could use some stretch run steals!
