WaiverSharks.com appropriately refers to the former Notre Dame star wide out by the same name his college fans knew him by.
We simply call him “Shark”
We won’t go into detail explaining the virtues of Jeff Samardzija’s record breaking dual sport college career at Notre Dame.
We will suggest you consider picking up the Chicago Cubs talented athlete before it’s too late.
Fantasy Baseball players outside of the Wrigley Field fanatics have been luke warm to the man whose surname spelling has given us as many fits late in the season as his fellow team mate (Kosuke Fukudome) gave us early in the year.
Some skepticism exists since the tall (6’5”) righty darted through the minors so quickly. However - during his first 8 major league appearances we can all agree on one thing for sure – this kid can deal some serious heat!
There are still some concerns over his control - and question marks regarding how well he will adapt to major league high pressure situations make Samardzija still somewhat of a flyer.
But thus far he has shown Cubbies faithful a reason to rejoice in the 5 year multi-million dollar deal they signed him to.
If you play in a league that features holds you can consider grabbing the youngster immediately just based on his strikeouts potential.
It’s not inconceivable Kerry Wood could head back to the DL at some point this year so saves chances could arise. And it’s also worth noting that there have been some rumors that Samardzija could see some time in the starting rotation as early as this September.
WaiverSharks.com will most certainly be keeping this “Shark” on our Fantasy radars!
