The Shallow
Adam Jones – Outfield (CF)
"Toolsy" center fielder Adam Jones looks to be a little more awake in his 2009 Yahoo Fantasy Baseball photo...
Zzzzzzzz…
And his bat has woke up too! Some good days lay ahead for the talented righty as Orioles fans recently witnessed his most impressive spring. Mr. Jones swiped a team high 7 bags – giving the speed/power O the potential of a 20/40 season.
Jones began 09’ with a banner Opening Day (3/3, with a triple, 2 ribbies, and 2 walks), and will look to continue to swing a hot stick with a series against the backend of the Rays rotation (Sonnanstine & Niemann) - as well as a not so favorable James Shields.
Looking forward to next week - the Orioles move into some ideal hitter’s parks as they head on the road to both Arlington Texas and Boston’s Fenway Park .
The Deep
Adam Lind – Outfield (LF)
Talk about busting out of the gate! Adam Lind opened the season this past Monday night with a monster game (4/5, with 3 singles and a dinger, 6 ribbies, and 2 runs), hitting in the 5-hole.
Look for Lind’s numbers to come back down to Earth, but there is no question that this former top rated third base prospect knows how to hit.
Lind is in the middle of a potent, yet underrated Jay’s offense, and should act as a great counter balance to the young Travis Snider.
