Ubaldo Jimenez – Starting Pitcher (SP)

There’s one fact about Colorado Rockies starter Ubaldo Jimenez that doesn’t worry me - that he calls his home Coors Field. Take a gander at these Home/Away splits:

Home: 154 IP with a 10-7 record, 108 Ks, 3.45 ERA, 1.25 WHIP

Away: 134.1 IP with a 6-9 record, 135 Ks, 4.76 ERA, 1.54 WHIP

Given this is Ubaldo’s 3rd season in the bigs, he should be able to right the ship on those road stats, and get himself on track to become the ace of a youthful Rox team. He looked amazing in his debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and will look to build upon his terrific 2009 debut.

2009 Production Prediction:201 IP with a 15-9 record, 194 Ks, 3.88 ERA, 1.29 WHIP.

There will be no "Deep" today, in honor of Nick Adenhart.
