The Shallow

Los Angeles AngelsHowie Kendrick - (2B)

After starting the season absolutely atrocious, Kendrick’s fantasy owners felt like the one’s with pie in the face. Howie was sent down to the farm to regain his swing and collect some confidence.

Waiver Wire Pickup - Howie KendrickThat is exactly what he managed to do at Salt Lake City .

Now that's he's back up with the big club, Howie looks to regain the .300 + AVG. and ring up stats across the board in that potent Angel offense.

With hits in 5 of his first 6 games since being called up, there can be no where to look but up for Kendrick’s 2009 season.

The Deep

Boston Red SoxJed Lowrie - (3B, SS)

Nobody is more excited for the "Return of the Jedi" than myself. Lowrie showed great strides in 2008, but has been derailed by injuries for most of the first half of the season.

Subscribe to WaiverSharks RSS Feed! Now that he's finally healthy, and Julio Lugo won't be stealing any at bats, Lowrie looks to take the field this weekend in hopes to help the Red Sox fill their hole at Shortstop.

Lowrie has a great eye at the plate, and as he showed in his rookie season, he has a knack for coming up with timely hits in the clutch. Something Beantown will need down the stretch if they are to fend off the New York Yankees in the AL East.

Although he doesn't have overwhelming power, Lowrie could be a Red Sox sparkplug in the second half (as he was last year), while providing fans at Fenway with big hits when necessary - and Fantasy owners solid results for those having trouble netting production from 2009 fantasy baseball's  particularly weak crop of shortstops.
