The New York Mets are having a Jason Bay Bobblehead Day! The first 25,000 fans who arrive to Citi Field for the July 11th 2010 game between the Mets and the Atlanta Braves will indeed be receiving a bobblehead of the coveted outfield star who signed in the offseason with the New York Mets.

Bobblehead DazeLast year the Mets provided us our newly crowned SGA MLB Bobble headdoll of the year for 2009 – Frankie Rodriguez Bobbleheadaka K-rod.

If you are a fan of the former Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates player -

Be sure to check out all of the previous

Jason Bay Bobbleheads on eBay!

Jason Bay Bobblehead 0223102We are sure the Big Apple will have another awesome looking Mets Bobblein store for this season. Maybe the Metropolitans will even have the Canadian born Bay, who is a native of Trail B.C., & a presumed hockey fan - clad in a new york rangers jersey???

…yeah we doubt it too! But that would be kind of cool wouldn’t it???

2010 Sleeper Keeper 0221101Ahhh yes – Chicks do dig the long ball…and some even like Padres camoas well.

But with fewer and fewer post roid era sluggers coming up these days, 2010 Fantasy Baseball owners are forced to dig a little deeper to find their round trippers.

2010-sleeper-keeper-0221102.jpgIn 2009 the San Diego Padreswere treated to a nice “jug” of coffee from young Kyle Blanks before his season was prematurely halted by a foot injury. The 10 dingers in 148 abs even included a most fun to watch inside the park home run!

According to Wikipedia - at 6'6", 285 lbs. Kyle Blanks was the largest player in Major League Baseball history to achieve this!

Heading into 2010 - hopefully Blanks trainers will work diligently with Blanks tootsies, so the man some refer to as “Gigantor” will be able to extrapolate a full baseball season into an impressive line of sophomore stats. Maybe we should send them the link to our article: "Note to Kyle Blanks Trainers: Fit “Gigantor” with Freeway FitFlops!"
2010 Sleeper Keeper 0221103With A-Gone still not gone from San Diego, Blanks is blocked from perhaps a more appropriate first baseman’s job. But the big man showed surprising athletism patrolling left field at PETCO last year.

Lots of trade rumors have swirled involving Adrian Gonzales, and the consensus is A-gone could be heading elsewhere by trade deadline. But whether Kyle Blanks is the Padres future first baseman, or not – his stick will eventually do much of his talking -regardless of the position he takes on the field.

Now that Frank Thomas has officially retired – it’s time Major League Baseball fans be made aware of the NEXT BIG HURT. The 6’6” Blanks actually showed up to camp this season a leaner 270 pounds. (And no, it’ not ‘cause the Oscar Gamble afro imitation is now a thing of the past)

2010 Sleeper Keeper 0221104Although PETCO Field can sometimes play a dubious part in slimming down a Friars player’s offensive numbers, if Blanks 2009 shortened rookie season was an early indication this mammoth of a man is plenty strong enough to tame the PETCO beast.

Kyle Blanks is still a baby however at only 23 years of age – so we should expect some batting average risks that could approach Adam Dunn like lows if the K’s pile up too much, or if the vast outfield of PETCO begins to wear him down.

Having said that, Adrian Gonzales does still remain in the Pads line-up (for now) so expect the behemoth baseball player’s RBI opportunities to be available on many nights. A-gone may even help prevent “Blanks the Tank” from shooting blanks if he can pass along his keen batters eye, and tremendous, yet still some how underrated skills to the copious Padre star of the future.

2010 Sleeper Keeper 0221105Keeper League owners need to cross their fingers a bit when talking such lofty comparisons as the Phillies Ryan Howard – but rest assured Kyle Blanks won’t be able to hide from the Fantasy Baseball limelight much longer – camo uniform, or not!

Stop the clicking Insanity!

Sunday, August 29th Chicago White Sox VS New York Yankees- Frank Thomas Bobblehead Day(First 10,000 Fans)

Editor's Note: Scott Solomon checks back in with a brief synopsis of why Fantasy Baseball Keeper League managers had better give serious consideration to yet another Orioles outfielder whose star appears on the rise.

2010 Sleeper Keeper 021810Baltimore's talented left fielder has been getting a ton of press this offseason after making a run at the (A.L.) American League Rookie of the Year honors with a mega chart topping .279/.365/.466! After hitting .394 with 1.228 OPS and 9 bombs in AAA, the Orioles brass was forced to bring up the kid to take the place of (at the time) the struggling Felix Pie.

Subscribe to WaiverSharks RSS Feed!
Reimold didn't disappoint, averaging more HR's per AB than the highly valued Matt Holiday. (1 per 23.86 vs. Holiday 's 1 every 24.2) Needless to say - Predictions for the 2010 Sleeper Keeper's sophomore season have been quite high!

Bill James has him at a .292/.373/.524 and the Chone projects him slightly more conservatively at .273/.353/.474.

What about the ankle?

Nolan Reimold had season ending surgery in September to shave down some bone rubbing against his Achilles tendon. This was seen as more maintenance/preventative in nature and he's expected to be at 100% for Spring Training. If anything you should expect a jump in his SB totals. Always a welcome sight!

Didn't Felix Pie light it up the second half of the season?

2010 Sleeper Keeper 0218102Will Nolan Reimold lose AB's to the long time Chicago Cubs' prospect? Although Felix Pie managed to make huge strides the second half of the 2009 Fantasy Baseball Season - Baltimore Orioles Manager Dave Trembley has clearly stated on numerous occasions that Number #14 will remain the starting left fielder, and it's his job to find Pie At Bats.

And, finally - coming soon to a blog near you, the beloved big guy – boss man Scott Woodall admits why his ‘man crush’ for the San Diego Padres behemoth Kyle Blanks will have him touting this 2010 Fantasy Baseball Deeper Sleeper throughout the month of March!

On to Fantalytics – Season Two!

By Adam Forsyth

2010 Keepers 02142In this edition of FANTALYTICS we compare a sweet pair of feature arms whose fantasy star power will surely continue to rise in 2010. As mentioned - This West Coast battle features the classic story of lefty vs. righty as both are expected to be key cogs in what are becoming arguably two of baseballs’ best rotations.

With that being said, both teams are expected to be in the mix for the NL West divisional crown, in what should be a highly competitive bracket - with the possibility of even two of the NL West teams making the post-season.

Without further adieu, get your highlighters ready folks as it’s time to break off another exciting season of: FANTALYTICS!

Let me first take the opportunity in welcoming back faithful FANTALYTICS readers to another exciting season of the palm sweating, mind numbing, panic attack inducing decisions that we all love (and sometimes end up hating…) to make in fantasy baseball. I would also like to welcome aboard any FANTALYTICS “virgins” that may be skimming the pages for the first time. With most teams’ spring training just around the corner; as pitchers and catchers start reporting as early as Feb. 17, it’s time to dig in for another 162 game schedule of rollercoaster fun!
