The Toronto Blue Jays have finally announced the 2010 promotions that will be provided at the Rogers Centre this coming season! Yes, it pales in comparison to last week-ends Gold Medal Hockey game in Vancouver - but Jays fans will be treated to a little retro on August 29th as the first 10,000 Jays fans through the gates of Rogers Centre will receive a Dave Stieb Bobblehead
.
For those too young to remember Dave Stieb - like half the Blue Jaysroster, Stieb and his mustache took the mound for the Blue Jays
between 1979 and 1992, and again in 1998.
Dave Stieb is actually the 2nd winningest pitcher in the 80's - next to the Detroit TigersJack Morris - and to date is the only Blue Jays pitcher to toss a No-hitter. (Versus the Cleveland Indians
on September 2nd 1990)
For those who were lucky enough to catch Dave Stieb in action - it was truly a pleasure to watch this man pitch! Unfortunately played on several bad Blue Jays teams and probably deserves more Hall of Fame attention than he gets. Stieb is in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame - but alas we're not hear to debate Hall of Fame merits.

And consider planning your MLB Road Trip to Rogers Centre the end of this summer! By than the Blue Jays could quite possibly be far from the pennant race in the always brutal American League East, but at least you'll have a shot at taking home a retro uniformed Dave Stieb Bobblehead: Mustache included!
