Last year the Chicago Cubs gave us a glimpse of their back stop future as they featured Geovany Soto – who promptly hit .389 in 18 games in 2007 - and has now become one of the best Fantasy catchers in Major League Baseball in 2008.
Are we perhaps witnessing the San Francisco Giants version of Mr. Soto by way of the stalky switch hitting Pablo Sandoval? Hmmm…only time will tell.
Pablo Sandoval has been raking since being called up on August 14th. The question that now exists – where should the Giants play him?
Sandoval has already become the NL's consummate Fantasy catching Swiss Army knife as he’s played not only catcher – but also is being experimented at both first base as well as third base.
That useful position versatility may make him an ideal 2nd Catcher for your Fantasy playoff run.
NOTE: The Giants have Bengie “Mo’ Money” Molina signed on for one more year in San Francisco – so catching duties may not be in Sandoval’s immediate future as a Giant – but if the big Venezuelan can continue to hit like he has in his first month in the big leagues – fire up the kayaks in McCovey Cove – ‘cause the Giants will most definitely find a place for Sandoval in their power starved lineup.
WaiverSharks.com just hopes he plays enough games in the C spot – enabling him to retain catcher eligibility for most Fantasy leagues in 2009.

And it’s been witnessed by scouts that the 98 MPH flamethrower is improving his secondary pitches as well.
In addition to the steadily improving righty hitting the cover off the ball to start 2008 - he’s doing so while batting clean up for the rising machine that is the Arizona Diamondbacks!
A quick personal note: His father is an actor best known for his portrayal of Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden on the television Emmy award winning series Jag.
The Dorsal of the Day is simply a player that we recommend grabbing off your Fantasy Baseball waiver wire, provided he is still available in your league. Fantasy Baseball players rejoice! In his 1st stint as Reds manager, Dusty Baker certainly managed to dance around revealing his 2008 starting rotation.
We wouldn’t have been surprised had Baker donned a Reds mascot “Gapper” costume in order to avoid reporters from hassling him to, once and for all, finalize the mystery starting staff!
Some good things do come to those who wait though. Aaron Harang and Bronson Arroyo will be joined by Josh Fogg, Edinson Volquez (WaiverSharks like to refer to him as “Voltron”) and this springs pitching sensation, our DORSAL OF THE DAY – Johnny Cueto.
