SMACK!!! BANG!!! KAPOW!!!

The Dark Knight, aka Batman, returning to the theatres you ask?

Well…yes…but the sounds the Arlington faithful is hearing this July is the sounds of crushed baseballs.

Texas Rangers mashing first baseman Chris Davis has made his major league debut and is NOW available in all leagues. The left-handed hitting Davis is listed as being both the exact same height as well as weight as his new Rangers teammate - Josh Hamilton.

Manager Ron Washington can only dream that yet another addition to the Rangers growing arsenal of “batting practice tape measure men” will be as productive as the Triple Crown dabbling Hamilton .

Davis is still only 22 years old – and still a very ‘raw’ player.

So, we’ll temper our batting average expectations – but his power is undeniable.

Chris DavisWe should see him playing in a fair number of games over at first base prior to the All-Star break – or at least until the wrist maligned Hammerin’ Hank Blalock can get that office workers nightmare – carpal tunnel syndrome - to settle down.

Asdrubal Cabrera has certainly not panned out thus far in 2008 for owners who felt he might be an excellent sleeper pick going into this years Fantasy Baseball draft.

Perhaps the unassisted triple play he recorded off the bat of the Blue Jays first baseman Lyle Overbay will provide some good karma for the Cleveland Indians middle infielder.

Cabrera somewhat nonchalantly flipped the ball to a lucky fan who opted out of watching the Cavaliers VS the Celtics – and instead nabbed a little piece of history while attending last nights game at Progressive Field.

It was only the 14th such play recorded in Major League Baseball history - and yet it was the third time the Indians have turned such a rare trick.

Last season - Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki provided a three for the price of one versus the Atlanta Braves.

WaiverSharks had Asdrubal pegged for great things prior to the start of the 2008 season – so now let’s hope this rare occurrence sparks some fire in the talented second baseman’s bat!
