LA Dodgers over the Phillies in 7
Maybe this is just a pipe dream – but a ManRam VS the Boston Red Sox match-up is juicier then the most mouth watering Chick-A-Dee’s chicken breast one can imagine!
We are hopeful for a Clayton Kershaw coming out party here to give the Dodgers enough pitching power to edge out the Phillies in seven games. If his south paw power arm can prove to be a viable 4th starter in the series the Dodgers could take this - but it won’t be the cake walk the poor cursed Cubbies endured.
The Bridge to Lidge will need to remain sound for the Philly Phanatic to have a chance at ascending to World Series glory – but Madson, Romero and company can be hittable on occasion. One things for sure – both teams will be well rested, and we like Torres boys by an ever so slight margin.
Just what the hell is the “Phillie Phanatic” anyway? He’s possibly even more obscure than Disney’s - Goofy.

Red Sox over Tampa Bay Rays in 7
The 2008 regular season match-up bodes well for the Rays…but sooner or later the experience they lack in post season play should become a factor. The Detroit Tigers miracle 2006 was much flukier than the Rays this season - whose young talent is very legit – but the Red Sox have a way of winning close, big games.
The Rays bullpen has been masterful. If Grant Balfour, Chad Bradford and J.P. Howell can continue their stellar seasons – they may have a shot – but we have our doubts.
In the end - we just can’t bet against Kevin “Youk” Youkilis in the post season – seriously, at this point - his playoff beard alone could scare the devil out of some Rays…
Youkilis and Cornelius – distant cousins perhaps?
So, a Dodgers VS Red Sox fall classic?
Certainly, a lot of folks will be clamoring for a Tinseltown versus Beantown finale!
But before you go spending too many big bets on this one happening - heed the figurative warnings in Yukon ’s famous line…
