I had to laugh when I compared my 2007 Alfonso Soriano bobblehead with this past season's Brad Penny nodder!
The Chicago Cubs All-Star left fielder is listed at 6’1” 180lbs - while the much heftier LA Dodgers starter, Brad Penny comes in at 6’4” 260lbs.
So, why do their

bobblehead
bodies look
like this...
No – this isn’t keeping me awake at night – but as a fairly avid MLB baseball bobblehead collector I admittedly got a kick out of my bulimic Brad Penny when it arrived via an EBAY auction last week.
Oh well. Kudos - they at least got him sportin’ some rather Pennyish facial hair.
By the way, the 2008 Dodgers bobblehead giveaways line-up was rather mediocre.
The four chosen bobbleheads were Joe Torre, Takashi Saito, Brad Penny and Joe Beimel. Nothing against Joe Beimel – but I am still wondering how and why Dodgers fans selected a middle reliever for the Fans Vote Bobblehead? Strange. Next year I’d LOVE to see the following Dodger Bobbleheads:
