The Florida State League Daytona Cubs, an Advanced Class A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs will honor Major League Baseballs National League 2008 Rookie (ROY) recipient Geovany Soto with a bobble head stadium giveaway during its 2009 MiLB campaign.
One thousand SGA Bobbleheads presented by Daniel Legal will be given to the first 1000 fans through the gates of Jackie Robinson Ballpark on June 12 2009.
Soto had a brief, but successful stint in the Major Leagues in 2007 – but enjoyed his breakout season while catching for the National League Central Division champion Chicago Cubs in 2008. The right hand hitting native of San Juan Puerto Rico hit .285 while bashing 23 homeruns and compiling 86 ribbys (RBIs).
The talented catcher played for the FSL’s Daytona Cubs during the 2003 season. He will look to capitalize on his sensational first full season with the Cubbies in 2009 on what is possibly an even stronger Cubs team.
His meteoric rise last year make many believe he now sits amongst Fantasy Baseballs backstop elite.
