Tim Lincecum Bobblehead

The much anticipated first San Francisco Giants Tim Lincecum Bobblehead has become one of 2009’s hottest SGA Bobbleheads so far! Given the massive popularity of the ultra talented Tiny Tim we are not surprized, we just wish we had made it out to the Bay area when the popular giveaway took place!

Tim Lincecum is coming off his incredible 2008 National League Cy Young Award winning season, and was honored by the Giants, who sometimes refer to him as “The Franchise” with a his own poly resin likeness on May 17th 2009.

A total of 20,000 esurance sponsored bobble head dolls were given out when the Giants played host to the New York Mets. If you peruse eBay you will find they start in around fifty dollars, so be sure to try and land a Lincecum bobblehead complete with game ticket to verify its authenticity.

Last season I made it abundantly clear that Josh Hamilton has become one of my favorite current Major League Baseball players. So, needless to say, when it was announced that a Josh Hamilton Bobblehead was going to be featured on May 16th 2009 at Arlington Park , I knew this was definitely an SGA bobblehead I’d be getting my hands on!

Previous Josh Hamilton BobbleheadsThe grey variant of the Josh Hamilton SGA bobble that was given out at a Durham Bulls game several years back when Hamilton was in the Tampa Bay Rays organization already stands proudly on my shelf. But this new Texas Rangers bobblehead, comes complete with the ALL-Star slugger’s trademark tattoos, and is even clad in the Texas Rangers sweet looking red alternate jersey that I really dig! I have little doubt this Hamilton bobble head figure is going to be a very popular collector’s bobblehead in years to come.

A quick glance over on eBay shows them generally fetching around $25 bucks or so, which isn’t too bad, and will be a welcome addition to sit next to the Hank Blalock Bobblehead I picked up in 2008.

Josh Hamilton - Josh Hamilton BobbleheadNote: After watching Sundays Rangers game against the Anaheim Angels – and witnessing “The Natural” rob Howie Kendrick of extra bases with a truly amazing catch, it only furthered my impression on Josh.

Game in. Game out, the man plays with the heart and soul of a born leader! I just hope he doesn’t kill himself playing out in centerfield one of these days making these body crunching plays up against the wall time, and time again.

What would help a bit would be if the Texas Rangers moved Hamilton to a corner outfield spot one day, so there was a little less physical strain on such a big man! Wouldn’t that make more sense Rangers fans? I mean, c’mon he’s the Rangers stud player, so this seems like a no-brainer to me. Smartin’ up Rangers brass - you guys should realize this! It’s not like George W Bush owns the team anymore!

I plan on taking advantage of the projected great weather, by heading to Lansing , Michigan to take in a Minor League Baseball game at Oldsmobile Park where the Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliate, Lansing Lugnuts will be playing host to the Cincinnati Reds minor league team – the Dayton Dragons!

It’s Carlos Zambrano Bobbleheadday on Saturday, May 16th, and so I just couldn’t pass up the chance to add a Big Z Bobble to my collection! I’m sure the wife will be just thrilled!
