The Chicago Cubsheld their first SGA Bobblehead of the year on Tuesday May 12th, when they played host to the visiting San Diego Padres. (The Cubs handed out a Carlos Zambrano No-hitter Statue
earlier in 2009, but this was their first SGA Bobble.)
The first 10,000 fans through the gates of Historic Wrigley Field received an exclusive, limited edition Ernie Banks Bobblehead. The 2 time MVP is posed with bat in hand in the Cubbies Classic pinstripe uniform – complete with a big Ernie Banks smile.
It’s a classy move for the Chicago Cubs to honor a few of their player greats from earlier eras, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting former Cubs baseball player to salute first this year than “Mr. Cub” himself - Ernie Banks!
The remaining 2009 Chicago Cubs Bobblehead Days are as follows:
- Tuesday, August 11th VS Philadelphia Phillies -
Ryne Sandberg Bobblehead
Day (10,000 Fans)
- Monday, August 31st VS Houston Astros -
Billy Williams Bobblehead

- Tuesday, September 29th VS Pittsburgh Pirates -
Ferguson Jenkins Bobblehead
