Outside of Reds Nation, many may not recall the pitching exploits of Frank Pastore.
An even fewer may have been aware that up until last month (March 28, 2008) big Frank had held the official record for eating the 72-ounce steak meal at the BIG TEXAN steakhouse in Amarillo , Texas .

Hey PETA, Care to Watch a live camera feed of the BIG TEXAN?
Pastore’s record time of 9½ minutes amazingly had held up since May of 1987!
Somewhat sadly, Ramble & Gamble has learned that Joey Chestnut, the same guy that beat Kobayashi’s hot dog eating record, recently completed his mammoth slab of cow in a record time of 8 minutes 52 seconds.
Wow. *Sigh* That’s nearly as upsetting as Pete Rose not being inducted into the Hall of Fame! God Speed Frank, ya had a good run!
And for the record, WaiverSharks is hoping you don’t try and reclaim your title. It would be like watching Michael Jordan play for the Wizards…only not quite so sloppy.
