We heard the California League’s Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were slashing prices on tickets for an upcoming game – big deal right?
But to commemorate of all things – an earthquake that reached a 5.4 seismic level in Chino Hills, CA. which is approx. twenty miles from where the Quakes play at the Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga is a pretty inventive way to promote a team!
Earthquake Awareness Day was held on Tuesday, August 5th coinciding with the Quakes game against the Inland Empire 66ers – and Tickets we’re specially priced for one day only at a earth shattering $5.40.
Wonder if they also considered showing this 1974 Charlton Heston disaster movie after the game?

Had to laugh when we came across this old movie poster for this flick – what the heck is sensurround? Our guess - a lot of extra subwoofer bass – and yet “sensurround likely helped sell a few thousand extra tickets to this 70’s summer blockbuster - Did I mention that we are suckers for silly promos?
Also of note: J. J. Abrams - the mastermind behind the television series Alias and Lost has been rumored to be mulling around ideas for a film involving an earthquake – but not a remake of this 1974 classic.
