All it took was a visit from the Baltimore Orioles to regain ground in the AL East. The Red Sox swept 4 games at Fenway this past weekend and have finally gotten themselves above the .500 mark.

The Red Sox quickly fell behind 7-0 in game one, only to come storming back to a 10-8 victory. The boys showed great determination against the O’s ace Guthrie, which enabled them to provide enough momentum to take the remaining three games. Boston roughed up a pieced together O’s pitching staff all weekend and saw big performances from Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis, Jon Lester, and the bullpen (which had been extremely ineffective the previous week and a half).

Look for the Red Sox to get behind the bat of the reigning AL MVP Dustin Pedroia, and come out swinging this week against the Twins, as well as the division rival Yankees, in the weekend series. The Sox seem to be coming into their own at just the right time. Now let’s see if we can break Cleveland’s record of 14 runs in an inning and defeat those mighty New York Bombers.

Til next time, Go Sox!
