The Red Sox taught the current division leader, the Toronto Blue Jays, a lesson this week. By sweeping the Jays out of town in rather dominant fashion, the Sox moved within half a game of first place. I guess we showed the high flying Jays who’s the boss?

The Jays threw 3 inexperienced starters to the mound, and the Red Sox took advantage of the young hurlers, tagging each for 2, 8 and 5 runs respectively. On the home side, all three Red Sox starters (Wakefield, Penny & Lester) dominated the best hitting team in baseball at Fenway this past week. Way to go guys!

The Red Sox will open up the first series of Inter-League play at home this weekend, as the New York Mets stroll into town for a classic re-match of the the 1986 World Series. At least we don’t have Buckner at first. Send’em packing boys!

Til next time, Go Sox!
