Show Us Your Bobbles Contest!

After the last couple of games, I think that there is more than just the things on the surface wrong with this team.  Allowing Tim Wakefield to cause that much damage to that line-up is nothing short of embarrassing, but throughout his career agains the Tigers, it has always been hit or miss.  They either light him up with hit after hit, or he throws b-b’s at the plate…Just, really slow b-b’s without much movement.
Nate Robertson performed as usual, by allowing four runs while giving up 10 hits.  To show how this is standard from the Tigers lefty, is that this performance slightly lowered his ERA from a dastardly 6.82 to a seriously smelly 6.64.

I wish Nate spent as much time learning how to pitch as he does on that sweet fu-manchu!!!

Last night was somewhat of a bizarre game.  Jumping out to a 4-0 lead, then 8-4, only to have Galaraga give up a run prior to getting pulled and then relievers Miner and Cruceta collapse and allow two earned runs a piece giving the Sox a crazy 9-8 lead.  Cue the comeback.
For the first time this season the Tigers were able to come from behind in the 9th off of one of the leagues most intimidating closers, Jonathan Papelbon.  Scoring two runs, with the last coming off of a broken bat of Placido Polanco (who went 5-6, raising his average to .270) as the Tigers walked off victorious in a wild one.
They now have a chance today to split the series; in a battle of aces, Beckett vs. Verlander before the Yankees come to town for three this weekend.

Will J-V be able to overcome the roughest start to a season in his young career?  Hopefully the first 7 starts haven’t been an indication of what is to come.  Will the Tigers be able to beat up on Sox ace Josh Beckett?  We’ll see, as we will watch in anticipation of the series finale.

  1. Justin Verlander Game Worn Jersey Owner Says:

Very nice Tigers information. I think Verlander may become one of the best pitchers in baseball.
I hope to be in Motown for a game this spring.
